New York is a State with undeniable scenic diversity, and it is for that very reason that my weekend on the Hudson River was so special. For those looking for a truly unique New York experience keep reading and do just this..
You’re spending the weekend away from home right? So this is considered a Vacation right? And what better way to get to your destination than by a luxury limousine service, a friendly driver and a bar full of champagne! Luxor Limo Service was a nearly perfect transportation option and their large range of luxury vehicles also come with Wi-Fi (yay to not having to use your own data!).. This is by far the best way to kick off your weekend getaway and why not travel in style? (www.luxorlimo.com )
For your Perfect Weekend on the Hudson, the Four Points by Sheraton Newburgh is undoubtedly the place to be. This brand new hotel is in the prime location for many of the area’s major attractions. Not to mention they have a gorgeous new fitness center (accessible 24 hours), an outdoor pool and the Lakeside Bar and Grill which offers a scrumptious array of comfort foods and some of the best local craft beers and wines. Also, the fresh brewed coffee and coffee bar each morning is not to be missed during your stay! The Four Points Sheraton in Newburgh possesses a stunning modern feel from the entrance area to the bedrooms, the dining area and throughout the outside décor as well.
Sitting outside with a savory glass of Pinot Nior next to the fire, looking up at the stars .. my whole body was relaxed and I had the greatest sense of peace. Although I was only 1 hour from home in NYC, I really felt like I was away and on the perfect weekend getaway! (Four Points by Sheraton Newburgh)
I believe every first-rate getaway allows you the opportunity to both gain wisdom and have a ton of fun! On this Perfect Weekend on the Hudson I did just that. My first adventure stop was to see General George Washington’s Headquarters, ONE OF THE MOST HISTORICAL SITES IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY! He stayed there from April 1, 1782, to August 19, 1783. Cool fact: This was Washington’s longest stay at any building during the Revolution! Learning about his time here was simply fascinating, but what made it even more interesting was our brilliant interpreter/tour guide who told us the stories of Washington’s time here and energetically shared a ton of critical facts with us, all of which we learned helped shape our nation. This is a MUST DO when coming to Newburgh and should only take you about 1 hour (so no excuses!). (Washington’s Headquarters)
After acquiring such crucial American History knowledge the best way to unwind and have fun is to indulge in some vino at America’s Oldest Winery, Brotherhood Winery! During my tour at Brotherhood Winery I wandered through the enormous underground cellars that hold more than 200 oak barrels, learned about the wine making process and relished in their large selection of wines some of which have been in production since the early 19th century! You could easily spend an entire day/week/month here enjoying the ambience, sipping the premium wines and soaking in pure relaxation.. (www.brotherhood-winery.com)
I’ve learned it’s always good to eat a hearty meal after a long day of wine tasting and a key restaurant worth stopping at in Newburgh is Cosimo’s. This picturesque restaurant has a rustic vibe with timeless decor which allow you to enjoy your meal in a cozy and inviting atmosphere that can keep you there for hours. (Cosimo’s Restaurant)
After a day of adventuring around Newburgh’s fantastic sites you will love coming back to your spacious hotel room, with free wireless High Speed Internet and the 50-inch flat screen TV to watch before getting the best night sleep of your life in their extremely satisfying beds! (the bedding is out of this world comfortable!)
And there you have it! There is no better way for you spend the PERFECT weekend on the Hudson River than this!
